Annual Cub and Brownie Entertainers Badge Weekend
Once again Stevenage Brownies and Cubs excelled themselves putting on a show in a day. The cast is chosen by the number of lines they wish to learn and their ability to impress the Director during some acting games at the start of the day when the children interact with a lot of new friends.
The rest of the day is a hectic schedule of scene painting, prop making, costume fitting, programme making and rehearsal, rehearsal, rehearsal.
This year we had a DVD being produced and children and leaders were interviewed and filmed by a professional company who were also impressed with the atmosphere and results of the day.
The final performance in front of an appreciative parent and family audience completed the day and tired, face painted children went home with their prop trophies and their Entertainers badge.
The leaders on Saturday prepared to do the whole thing again from scratch for a new set of 70+ boys and girls the next day. Many thanks to all the leaders and Young Leaders and especially to Stuart Leacy who writes, produces and enthuses everyone to get involved.
