Hit the Heights Centenary Camp - 24 to 30 July 2010
Herts centenary camp was held at Paccar campsite on 24 - 30 July attended by approx 60 girls and 20 adults from our Division. Our Division was on one sub camp called 'Share the Adventure'; our theme was Pirates.
The girls enjoyed a wide range of activities during the day including sailing, canoeing, bellboating, dragon boating, rifle shooting, crate stacking, climbing wall to name just a few.
On the Sunday our subcamp dressed up in our Pirate clothes and joined in the 'Its a Knock Out' activities. During the afternoon their was an eco fair in Franks Field.
On the Monday evening the Division Guiders organised the evenings activities, the girls split into 4 groups where they practised their circus skills, toasted marshmallows, did some bead craft and made camp doughnuts. It was finished with the Flag being lowered and taps being sung by all. The girls had a fantastic night and met lots of people from other units in the Division. The camp doughnuts were a bit hit with leaders and girls, thanks to the 13th.
Three of the girls from the 15th attended the Senior Section Night Hike. The High Ropes were a big success; the girls loved this session.
On Thursday night there was a disco; most of the girls dressed up for the occasion, the glow sticks were very popular. Knebworth District and a few others enjoyed their last night out under the stars having taken their tents down early.
The Friday saw a quick round of thank you's to the organisers and some presentations round the main flag pole, before the final striking of camp. The 15th had a rather delayed trip home when their coach broke down at the camp site. However after a quick play on the adventure playground a new coach arrived to take them home.
