Stevenage Division International Evening 2008
Stevenage Division hosted their annual International Evening to hear about all the fascinating and exciting trips girls and leaders have enjoyed over the Summer. Stories of adventure and achievement from Iceland, Scotland, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland were recounted. We were also privileged to hear a first hand account of the Tall Ships race from Liverpool to Norway. Girlguiding UK, in partnership with the Jubilee Sailing Trust entered the world's first all-female crew in a class A vessel, the Lord Nelson. The ship was becalmed off the Skye for three days...but on the bright side the crew was able to see puffins, terns, a minke whale and dolphins that played around the bow of the ship. In Norway Abi was able to go aloft on an assisted climb up the mast and enjoyed the magnificent views of the harbour from the platform.
